As part of Re-Framed, Livewire asked young people to create new worlds with hidden stories and unexpected characters. Taking old paintings and reimagining them with a vibrant twist using kooky collage, young artists worked together on multiple artworks with a collaborative spirit.
About the Artist
The Livewire program focuses on innovation, wellbeing, creativity, and fun for young people over 12 years old in hospital. Since the program started at Sydney Children’s Hospital in 2012, Livewire Facilitators have been engaging with adolescents in many ways to enrich their time in hospital. Young people across the Sydney Children’s Hospital have been working in collaboration to reimagine old paintings and artworks, using a combination of collage, painting, and illustration. With all mediums encouraged, the results are a celebration of creativity and imagination - new worlds with hidden stories and unexpected characters.
