Frequently Asked Questions
Where does my money go?
Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation exists to raise vital funds for all sick kids, with a focus on kids and families receiving care in the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, including:
- Sydney Children's Hospital
- Children’s Hospital Westmead
- The Newborn and paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS)
- Bear Cottage
- Kids Research
Can I fund a specific hospital, department, or ward?
Nowhere else can you make one donation and help different kids of all ages, all diseases and all conditions. Unrestricted donations help us harness the power of collective giving to fund the highest and most urgent priorities to have the greatest impact on children’s health, now and in the future. At the same time, we also recognise that some people/groups have a personal connection to a specific cause, entity or service and you can continue to provide support directly to the area you care about by indicating your preference to us when you register.
Can someone from SCHF/the hospital come to my event?
We are lucky to have so many amazing schools and other community groups supporting SCHF, so we can’t always attend the fantastic events that we are invited to. Please speak to our team to talk about the requirements for your event.
How can our school start a fundraising initiative?
Please get in touch, or, if you’re ready to get started, register your event now!
Is there a minimum donation amount?
No. All donations make an impact, however small or large. Together, we can make a difference and go all in for kids’ health!
Are our contributions to SCHF tax-deductible?
Donations over $2 are tax-deductible.
Can we visit the kids in hospital?
We would be delighted to welcome your school group for cheque presentations, photo opportunities and tours in the common areas of the hospitals. This is an excellent way to learn first-hand about the services and people you are funding. However, due to privacy, health and logistical considerations, members of the public can’t come into clinical areas (including bedside).
