How our corporate partners spread Christmas cheer for sick kids

At Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF), the spirit of Christmas was truly alive this year, thanks to the unwavering support of our remarkable corporate partners.

Through our annual Lights for Kids fundraiser, holiday-themed events, and the SCHF Giving Day, the kindness and generosity of businesses like Ausgrid, SHAPE, Ingenia Holiday Parks, Big W, Fujifilm, and Butterboy have helped bring festive joy to sick kids and their families. From matching donations to creating heartwarming experiences, each partner’s contribution has helped us give children a brighter, more hopeful Christmas. Let’s take a moment to reflect on the magic these collaborations created and the difference they’ve made in the lives of so many.

Lights for Kids

Thanks to the extraordinary support of our corporate partners, SCHF is thrilled to announce our annual Lights for Kids fundraiser raised $200,000 and counting! During the campaign, 109 fundraisers across NSW dazzled their homes to help give sick kids a brighter Christmas.

To help their homes shine extra bright, Ausgrid jumped on board as our Supporting Partner and matched $15,000 of donations, doubling fundraisers impact. Beyond this generous gift, the team fostered community spirit by fundraising internally - selling cut-out baubles for their foyer Christmas tree and volunteering at our Giving Day.

Encouraged by the fantastic response to our initial dollar match day, SHAPE brought additional holiday cheer by offering $20,000 in matched donations, delivering a wonderful Christmas surprise for all.

A special mention also to Ingenia Holiday Parks who registered for Lights for Kids and decorated three of their parks. Guests over the festive season were invited to donate and Ingenia Communities matched their support up to $1,000.

Wrapathon

Our long-standing supporter, Big W was wrapped to be giving back at Christmas and hosted Australia’s first ever BIG W Wrapathon to celebrate the launch of their charity wrapping paper.

Tennis star, Lleyton Hewitt and other community ambassadors joined BIG W at their Pagewood store for the launch. They even tried to break the Guiness World Record for the fastest time to gift-wrap a box, currently held at 30 seconds.

The incredible effort helped promote the charity wrapping paper which featured SCHF patient family designs. Proceeds from their gift wrap and festive token cards sold across NSW will be donated to SCHF, supporting Child Life Therapy.

Thank you, Big W for helping change the future for sick kids.

SCHF Giving Day

Fujifilm House of Photography and Butterboy both brought the crowds in with the Gingerbread Photo area and Butterboy’s incredible cookies to Martin Place on Giving Day.

Butterboy also generously donated $1 from every cookie to SCHF and launched their ‘Always-on’ SCHF Rainbow Fudge Brownie cookie, with $1 going to SCHF at all stores.
