Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) is thrilled to announce a record-breaking result for the sick and injured kids being cared for across the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (SCHN) – over $100 million raised in the past financial year.
Thanks to our incredible supporters, donors and partners – 33,000 people in the past year- who came together to help SCHF become the first Australian children’s health charity to raise more than $100 million in a single financial year.
For the 159,000 kids who visit the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead or Bear Cottage each year, and for those transported by the Newborn and paediatric Transport Service or benefit from the work of Kids Research, this remarkable achievement means new equipment, training and education for their clinicians, groundbreaking research and state-of-the-art facilities.
Kate Ferguson, Acting Chief Executive Officer at SCHF said: “We are incredibly proud of our generous donors for going all in for kids’ health and reaching this milestone. This result inspires us to raise even more for sick children in hospital and continue to harness the power of philanthropy to make a transformative impact on paediatric health.
“We are fortunate to have a great public health system in New South Wales, but government funding can never meet all of the demand or all of the opportunity in kids’ health. Philanthropy plays a crucial role in delivering the highest standard of clinical care, the best possible patient experience and cutting-edge research that can deliver new therapies and treatments,” she said.

“Without a doubt, all Australians share in the mission of providing the best possible care for sick kids in hospital,” added Ferguson. “The community’s generosity and support for SCHF and the sick kids of New South Wales demonstrates that our shared sense of purpose and compassion, our collective effort to go all in for kids' health, will have a significant impact for children, now, and for generations to come.”
Thank you again to our wonderful Movement of Many on behalf of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation and the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. We are so grateful to have you working alongside us to ensure all children have access to the best possible healthcare – no matter where, no matter what.
