Seven Miles Coffee Roasters Impact

30 Nov 1999

Most people can’t go without their morning coffee, but did you know your morning brew could also change lives? For four years, Seven Miles Coffee Roasters have been donating $1 from every kilo of their special Bear and the Beard blend of coffee beans to Bear Cottage, raising an incredible $250,000 so far.

A long-time partner of Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, Manly-based Seven Miles Coffee Roasters have supported Bear Cottage for 18 years, and the sale of the beans was the logical next step for them to continue supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Simone Ruskin, Seven Miles Coffee Roasters Executive says, “Bear Cottage is a local charity to us…it means a lot to us to be able to give back to families. To have a portion of [the sale of the coffee beans] go to such a wonderful charity, it just makes work even more of a pleasure.”

It is thanks to corporate partners like Seven Miles Coffee Roasters and their generous customers that the team at Bear Cottage can continue to provide care for children with life- limiting conditions and their families.

Bronwen Simmons, Bear Cottage Community Manager, says, “Bear Cottage is incredibly grateful to the Seven Miles team for their support over many years. Their donation of funds and coffee – not to mention the opportunity to raise awareness – helps ensure that we can continue to provide this very special sanctuary for our children and families.”
