Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation Christmas Appeal kicked off on Monday 6 November 2023, aiming to raise an ambitious $10 million to help sick kids across New South Wales and beyond, regardless of their age, illness, or injury.

Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation Christmas Appeal will run over the seven weeks leading up to Christmas with a range of Community and Corporate Partnerships and activations during this exciting period. A partnership that Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation is most excited about is being chosen as the proud charity partner for City of Sydney this Christmas.

We will also be sharing some heartwarming and impactful stories of patients who have benefitted and experienced more joyful Christmases because of the contributions of Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation and our Movement of Many.

Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation CEO Kristina Keneally says, “We all love the holiday season because it means spending time with family, friends and loved ones. For kids in hospital, having these precious moments can be difficult. That is why we’re asking communities across NSW to come together and go all in for kids’ health.

“All children deserve to share in the excitement and celebration of this wonderful time of year. By supporting Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation Christmas Appeal, you are helping us give kids in hospital the brightest Christmas possible.”

A Giving Day is planned for 5 December, with activations across both Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and The Children's Hospital at Westmead to make the Christmas season a bit brighter for children in hospital. A visit from Santa and some delicious giveaways will help brighten and liven Christmas Spirits. Every dollar donated on Giving Day will also be doubled by DOOLEYS and our generous dollar matchers from our Movement of Many up to $80,000.

Milla, a joyfully bright and fun-loving patient, has also designed a fabulous Christmas Card for the appeal. Using infrared eye gaze technology, Milla has not let her condition stop her from being a creative genius. Funds raised this year are going to help kids like Cooper. Cooper was born on Christmas Eve, and within his first few hours of life, Cooper required emergency paediatric support. Cooper's parents, Amanda and Michael, could have never believed in their wildest dreams that they would need to call on the support of the Newborn and paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS) not once but twice in their lifetime for their critically unwell babies. But thanks to the expert support of these teams, today, they have a happy, healthy little family that is ready to celebrate a very special Christmas. Read more about Koby and Cooper's stories here

By supporting the appeal, you can make one donation that helps all sick kids, regardless of their age or the type of illness or injury they have.

From the toddlers to the teenagers, the inner cities to the outer suburbs, regional, rural and beyond - this is your chance to give all sick kids the brightest Christmas possible. Visit schf.org.au/christmasappeal to donate.
