Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) has secured its position as a fundraising powerhouse, claiming three coveted awards and earning finalist status in three additional categories within a remarkable 24-hour timeframe. The accolades were bestowed by the esteemed New South Wales Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) and The Centre of Volunteering.

SCHF successfully secured the titles of NSW Fundraising Team of the Year for the second year in a row, and NSW Young Fundraiser of the Year – Nicole Ilacqua, at last night’s NSW FIA awards ceremony in Sydney.

Additionally, SCHF has been named a finalist in three national FIA award categories, Fundraising Impact through Creativity (Christmas Appeal), Fundraising Impact through Events (Gold Dinner), and Fundraising Champion of the Year – Kate Ferguson. The winner will be announced at the national awards ceremony at the FIA Conference in Brisbane in February.

Kristina Keneally, CEO of SCHF said of the victory: “The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation team and our generous donors go all in for kids’ health every day, and they are the true heroes that earned these prestigious awards and recognition.

“SCHF’s success stretches across New South Wales thanks to our Movement of Many – a group of more than 70,000 donors, supporters and volunteers, come together to help all sick kids, no matter where, no matter what.”

Keneally also paid tribute to the clinicians and researchers at the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

“It is a privilege to work with the doctors, nurses, researchers, and health workers who are committed to ensuring every child in NSW has access to the health care they need, when they need it.  As the only charitable Foundation for Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, SCHF can make an impact on the frontline and the future of kids’ health.

"We extend our utmost congratulations to Sydney Children's Hospitals Network and the Bear Cottage team for being named Volunteer Team of the Year at the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards.”
