Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) is proud to announce an innovative three-year partnership with Hospitals United for Sick Kids and Coles, designed to transform paediatric cancer care through a groundbreaking Precision Cancer Therapy initiative.
This visionary collaboration will drive advancements in personalised cancer treatment, ensuring that children with cancer receive therapies tailored to their unique needs. By focusing on precision dosing, the initiative aims to deliver the right amount of anticancer drugs for each young patient—maximising effectiveness while minimising side effects.
At the forefront of this effort is Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, home to the Southern Hemisphere's largest clinical pharmacokinetic testing facility. This cutting-edge testing determines optimal drug concentrations, offering children across New South Wales and Australia faster and safer access to life-saving therapies.
The partnership brings a generous $664,000 investment over three years, reinforcing the hospital’s expertise and ensuring the continued expansion of critical equipment and services. This support not only enhances clinical care but also strengthens financial sustainability, positioning the initiative as a global leader in precision dosing for paediatric oncology.
