Why this Sydney family brought their new house from the heart

Clive and Luca
The hammer fell and the auctioneer shouted, “congratulations sir”, when a rather stunned Clive realised that he had just purchased a two-bedroom unit in Vaucluse.
Clive, a father of one from North Bondi, surprised himself that he just made this unexpected purchase.

“I had seen the property online but the first time I viewed it was on the day of the auction”, said Clive.

Clive may not have intended to purchase the Vaucluse property but once he learned that the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation was the vendor, and all proceeds were going to help sick kids, the property felt right to him. “This is just good juju”, said Clive. “It’s for the Children’s Hospital and will flow back to my son”

While little Luca’s initial treatment was in London where he was born, he currently attends Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick regularly to receive occupational and speech therapy.

While Luca still has some years ahead with therapy, Clive knows the day will come when they will both say goodbye to treatment and that’s the day they are looking forward to most.

SCHF wishes to acknowledge and thank John McGrath and McGrath Real Estate for their time and pro bono work to sell the Vaucluse property. McGrath ran a six-week marketing and sales campaign to showcase the property to prospective buyers and provided auctioneer services on the day.

SCHF would also like to acknowledge and thank Anna Caccamo and Day Legal at Potts Point, for their time and pro bono work to manage all legal requirements facilitating the sale of the Vaucluse property.
