100 kilometre solo run - from Sydney CBD to Wollongong CBD

By Abbas Soukie

I’ve chosen to raise much needed funds for Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation

I’m attempting a sporty challenge and have decided to raise money to support an amazing organisation.

The Children's Hospital at Westmead is one of Australia's leading specialist medical centres for kids , offering a safe and friendly healing environment for children from NSW and beyond. The Hospital's expert medical staff care for more than 84,000 critically ill and injured children every year.

That’s why I’ve chosen to raise much needed funds for The Children's Hospital at Westmead. Thank you for your support!

About me:

In October 2020, I decided a physical change was needed. At that time, I weighed 120 kilograms and could not run more than 100 metres consistently. As of today, I weigh 83 kilograms and am now running a marathon a week. I have always had a passion for long distance running, and would like to use this passion by raising much needed funds for The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

The Event:

I plan to run 100 kilometres within 12 hours - stopping only for hydration, nutrition or when nature calls. It will be a tough and gruelling endurance event, but I am driven to reach the finish line to give back to the community of health care workers that are on the front line every day aspiring to bring comfort and joy to the lives of tens of thousands of children who are treated at the The Children's Hospital at Westmead each year.
