Lace up your shoes and join us in March for our biggest Walk for Kids with Cancer yet! Registrations are now open.

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) is thrilled to announce the launch of registrations for our hallmark community fundraiser of the year, Walk for Kids with Cancer. Taking place between The Rocks and the Northern Beaches on Sunday 24 March 2024, SCHF is calling on the Movement of Many to take on a challenge and make every step count for childhood cancer.

Every week in Australia, three children die from cancer. No child should ever go through cancer but those who do deserve our all. That’s why SCHF has set an ambitious target to raise $630,000 at this year’s event.

Funds raised from Walk for Kids with Cancer will be directed to the frontline of children’s healthcare, supporting the two oncology centres across Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

General Manager Engagement, Kate Ferguson says; “In 2023, SCHF was thrilled to see over 1000 unstoppable changemakers step up and go all in for kids’ health at Walk for Kids with Cancer. We know with the support of our Movement of Many, we can break our record and raise even more funds for kids and families, like Harvey, who are affected by this devastating disease."

At only eight years old, brave Harvey spent 14 months receiving intensive treatment for T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. It’s thanks to the extraordinary care of the Kids Cancer Centre and the support of his family that he is now in remission and back home where he belongs.

Harvey’s mum, Sallie says; “The staff at the Hospital were amazing. The nurses became like family, and the oncologist was so good with Harvey. He’d talk about Lego and Star Wars to make Harvey feel comfortable, and he did whatever he could to give him as much of a life as possible.”
